DesignCubes No. 5 and 6

After the 2008 Silver Editions of the DesignCubes and the 2009 Gold Editions, this year we proudly present the Black Editions!

DesignCube No. 5 is named Electro Flower, DesignCube No. 6 shows a Mystic Lady. Both designs were created by DeinDesign artists.

BVMW Rodel-Cup 2010

For the BVMW Rodel-Cup 2010, a sled-racing contest for companies, several Cube Editions have been made. The annual Edition CIC7.1.1 is dedicated to Ute Oberhoffner, a former sled champion - winner of olympic Silver and Bronze, European champion. Additionally, some Award Cubes plus a honorary Cube have been done together with CRV4 rack and specialized skin. Those special Cubes are anodized and laser-engraved. (EB)

The Edition CIC6.3 is a gift for a Dutch car-customizing company. The Cube shows a Nissan Skyline at the front side, and a Japan-like theme at the back side. (EB)

Jugend Forscht Edition

The Edition CIC17.1 is an award for young researches that reached the Thuringian Final 2010. It will be awarded at the meeting in Jena, March 24/25. The Edition shows the official theme for 2010, and is limited to 50 Cubes. The Jugend Forscht logo and the 2010 theme are used with friendly permission by Jugend Forscht.

Rennsteiglauf Participation Editions

The Cube Editions CIC16.1.* are dedicated to the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th or even 25th participation at the Rennsteiglauf run. The corresponding basic colors are Black, Red, Bronze, Silver and Gold. These Cubes will be delivered with a Certificate but only if the precondition is fulfilled. There are rumors that a few people will have their 30th anniversary soon, so there need to be a further Edition! (EB)

DesignCubes No. 3 and No. 4

As the first two DesignCube Editions, No. 3 and No. 4 present--at the front side--original designs of the creative company DeinDesign, Germany. The back sides show a secondary design that is 'compatible' with the front side and was specifically created for the DesignCube.

The DesignCube No. 3 (CIC10.3, right side in the picture) is named 'Pipes' and shows some fantasy pipes. Similarly, the DesignCube No. 4 (CIC10.4, left side) shows several gold rings and therefore is named 'Rings'.

Both Editions are made with a golden anodized Cube and harmonize pretty well. (EB)

Rennsteiglauf Cube Editions

The Cube Edition CIC16 is the first of the Rennsteiglauf Editions which are released in cooperation with the organizer of the GutsMuths Rennsteiglauf, Europe's largest cross-country race.

The Edition CIC16 is dedicated to the 38th race in May 2010. The Editions CIC16.1.* appreciate the 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25th participation.

The Cube Editions will be available as merchandizing articles via the online-shop of the organizer. (EB)

Cube Rack Dreiherrenstein

The new Cube Rack Dreiherrenstein (CRDH) is an entry-level rack for one or two Cubes. It may be used for trophies or awards. The end caps have an inside thread to fix the Cube(s). The base plate is made from solid wood, the other parts from metal. The Rack is from the same producer as the Cube Racks Kickelhahn, Lindenberg and Schneekopf. (EB)

50th Cube Edition

The 50th Cube Edition is the Edition CIC12.1 that recognizes the 15th Anniversary of the foundation of EasternGraphics (Germany) in 1995. The Edition is released by EasternGraphics BENELUX B.V. and made up of 25 pieces. The Edition is anodized in orange with white laser engraving on front and back side. (EB)

A European Cube

Edition CIC8.1 is released on the occasion of the kick-off of a bigger EU-sponsored research project and hopefully a powerful reminder to all project parties to do their project activities. The Edition is made up of 12 pieces. (EB)

eCAMPUS Thueringen Edition - 111 Pieces

The Cube Edition CIC8, made up of 111 Pieces, was released by the eCAMPUS Thueringen project, that combines the activities of seven Thuringian Computer Science colleges and universities. The edition will be used as special gift and award. (EB)

20 Years Fall of the Wall

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall a special Cube Edition was released in cooperation with PappenForum.de. The front side was designed by a young artist. The Edition is limited to 20 Pieces and is available in the Cube Shop. (EB)

FH Erfurt 2009 Alumni Cube

Edition CIC7.1 - 1st BVMW Employers Sled Cup

The major license CIC7 is now opened for Cube Editions that correspond to Events. First of them was made for the 1st BVMW Employers Sled Cup taking place in Ilmenau, Sep. 18, 2009. The Edition is made up of 10 pieces, so it's a pretty limited edition. Too bad, only the winners and some selected persons, such as Hans Rinn (Pic), got one of them. The event was great and it seems there will be a successor in 2010! (EB)

A Smart Way to Browse the Cubes

The CubeBrowser is a new and smart way to browse the Cubes based on the CIC numbers. The browser implements directly the hierarchical Cube structure. For a selected Cube it displays advanced information and links to the Cube Catalog and the Cube Gallery. (EB)

Three New Editions

We announce the release of three further editions. All cubes are glass-bead blasted, anodized and laser-engraved. The black edition was even engraved with two laser colors. (EB)

Two Further Cube Racks

Derived from the 4x4 Cube Rack Kickelhahn (CRKH), two new Cube Racks are available: the 3x3 Cube Rack Schneekopf (CRSK) and the 2x2 Cube Rack Lindenberg (CRLB). The new Racks are pretty similar to CRKH except for the fix base plate. All three Racks are named after Thuringian hills. The Racks are pretty soon available in the Cube Shop. (EB)

Cube Rack Kickelhahn

The Cube Rack Kickelhahn (CRKH) is now available! We found a producer who makes this 16-Cubes Rack in good quality for a pretty fair price. The frame is made from wood, the rods are from anodized aluminium. There are different colors available for the wood part. Also CRKH offers a flexible concept for the base plate as you can choose one of four different models. Additionally spacers are available. The Rack is shortly available in the Cube Shop. (EB)

2009 PF Edition

The 2009 Pappenforum Edition is dedicated to the former East-German car brand Sachsenring and is made up of 26 pieces. The Cubes are silver/colorless anodized with fine laser engraving. The Sachsenring logo is officially licensed for the use in this Edition. (EB)

Cube-based Galleries

The CubeMap, which is an index similar to a Site Map but for Cubes instead of HTML pages, provides now a new feature, by means of a further column. These entries link directly to the Cube-tagged images in the PhotoBucket image repository. So for each Cube Edition the existing images (both official and community) are available by a single mouse click. (EB)

New Anodizing Colors

In cooperation with FISCHER surface technology for the fine mechanics we have now more anodizing colors. Red, green, blue, orange and gold are now available. The advantage of anodizing is that it is a valuable yet inexpensive way for surface finishing. (EB)
